Hedgelaying in the Car Park

It’s the time of year when some of the usual gardening activities are put aside to permit a bit of tidying up ready for the coming season.
The gardening team have made a start on sprucing up the car parks.
Much leaf raking and clearing has taken place followed by some selective pruning of the Hawthorn and Hazel growth that has got out of hand and is encroaching on the car parks.

The next job, now underway, is hedgelaying the side of the lower car park.
This hedgerow is a rambling mix of Hazel, Hawthorn and Old mans beard but will soon be transformed into something more tidy and attractive.
Volunteers have been hard at work cleaning up and preparing the hedge.
